Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a space just for you—a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns without judgment. Together, we’ll work on understanding what’s keeping you stuck, building tools that fit your needs, and creating more flexibility, resilience, and self-trust.

Individual therapy may be right for you if you…

  • Struggle with persistent anxiety, panic, or OCD that interferes with daily life

  • Feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, habits, or compulsions

  • Have experienced trauma or difficult life events and want to process them safely

  • Are dealing with depression, low motivation, or feelings of hopelessness

  • Find it hard to manage stress, uncertainty, or perfectionism

  • Want support in building healthier coping strategies and building self-trust

  • Have tried therapy before but didn’t feel like it “stuck” or fully addressed your needs

Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after past experiences, individual therapy provides a space to explore, experiment, and grow at a pace that feels safe and meaningful.

How it Works

What you need now is ease. I’m here to help you simplify the process as you begin your journey.

1

Step One

Contact me to ask questions or schedule your first session. You don’t need to have everything figured out — just take the first step toward support..

2

Step Two

In your first session, we’ll get to know each other, discuss your goals, and explore what brings you here. You’ll learn how therapy works and decide if my approach feels like a good fit.

3

Step Three

Together, we’ll work on patterns that feel stuck, practice new ways of thinking and responding, and build tools that help you navigate anxiety, OCD, trauma, or other challenges. Change happens at your pace, and you’ll always have a clear understanding of why we try each approach..

My Role as Your Therapist

As your therapist, I provide guidance, structure, and evidence-based strategies to help you understand patterns, face challenges, and practice new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding. I explain why exercises or approaches might be helpful, offer support as you experiment with them, and ensure you feel safe throughout the process.

Your Role as a Client

Your role is active. Therapy works best when you engage with the process—sharing your experiences, practicing skills both within and outside of therapy sessions, providing feedback, and trying new strategies. Change comes from your willingness to explore, experiment, and apply what resonates to your own life and values.

Your Role as a Parent

If you are here seeking therapy for your child, teen or young adult, your role is to provide support, encouragement, and a safe environment for your loved one to engage in therapy. You don’t need to have all the answers or “fix” things—your job is to listen, validate their experiences, and help them practice skills at home when appropriate. By staying engaged, communicating openly with the therapist, and respecting your teen’s autonomy, you help create the foundation for meaningful, lasting growth..

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All sessions are conducted securely online through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform that keeps your information private. You’ll receive a link to join your session from anywhere with a stable internet connection. The platform also makes scheduling, invoicing, and secure messaging simple and convenient, so you can focus on your therapy without extra stress.

  • Your first session is an important step in your therapy process. During this session, we’ll:

    • Review Practice Policies: We’ll go over logistics, confidentiality, and session structure so you know exactly what to expect.

    • Discuss What Brings You to Therapy: You’ll have space to share what brought you to therapy and what feels most pressing right now.

    • Collect a History of the Problem: We’ll explore patterns, past experiences, and previous attempts at coping or treatment. Understanding the history helps me tailor therapy to your unique needs and ensures interventions are relevant and effective.

    • Identify Treatment Goals: Together, we’ll clarify what you hope to achieve in therapy. This helps us create a focused, collaborative plan and ensures that the work we do aligns with your values and priorities.

The first session is a chance for you to ask questions, share your experiences, and get a clear sense of how therapy will work. It’s not just about starting treatment—it’s about setting the foundation for meaningful, lasting change.

  • There is no one-size-fits-all answer — therapy is as unique as the person in it. Some people notice meaningful changes in just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing work over several months or longer. The length of therapy depends on factors like the complexity of your challenges, your goals, and how often you engage in sessions and practice new skills outside of sessions.

However, since I tend to see primarily clients with obsessive and compulsive symptoms, I recommend committing to at least 12-16 weeks of individual therapy, especially if this is your first time ever engaging in therapy.

We’ll check in regularly to assess progress and adjust the approach as needed. The goal is not to just get through the symptoms, but to build lasting skills, self-trust, and flexibility so you feel confident living life on life’s terms long after therapy ends.

  • My fees are based on 45-50 minute sessions. For the initial intake session, my fee is $175. For individual sessions thereafter, my fee is $150 per session. For family sessions involving more than one person, my fee is $165 per session.

  • I do not accept insurance directly. If you have a qualifying mental health diagnosis, then I can provide you with a document called a “superbill” through your patient portal that automatically generates itself and becomes available to you at the beginning of each month. Once you download the superbill, you can submit this on your own to your insurance provider as a claim to seek reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to inquire about out of network benefits based on your specific insurance plan prior to beginning therapy with me to ensure that you have no surprise costs.

  • My cancellation policy requires clients to cancel or reschedule sessions at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the full session fee. If you do not show up to your appointment, which is considered a “no show,” then you will also be responsible for the full session fee. If you are trying to seek reimbursement with your insurance provider, please note that insurance providers do not reimburse for late cancellations or no shows.

  • Telehealth therapy is mental health counseling conducted remotely using secure video or phone sessions. It allows you to receive professional support from the comfort of your own space, without needing to travel to an office. Telehealth is a convenient, confidential, and effective way to access therapy — especially for those with busy schedules, limited mobility, or who live in areas without nearby providers.
